It has been an awful time to be a wrestling fan these past few months. First, a lot of major Superstars got injured and made this year's Wrestlemania kind of lame. Second, it forced many wrestling fans to realize that they do not despise John Cena. It has been a constant battle between Cena fans and those that hate him. Every night when Cena's music hits, the crowd is instantly divided. Those that are chanting "Let's Go Cena" are usually the younger folks in the crowd and then the "Cena Sucks!" chants are almost always from adult males. To be honest, it was hard not to hate Cena because he would always win. It got ridiculous. However, for the past couple of years, Cena has barely been in the main-event scene and the guy replacing him is even worse.
Now Cena is returning and there is no doubt in my mind he will still get a lot of boos. He doesn't deserve it though because without Cena on the show, the product has greatly suffered. I mean, let's be honest, it has been just horrible lately. The returns of both Cena and Seth Rollins hopefully will help inject life into the show, along with Smackdown going live and the impending brand split that will happen in July. Roman Reigns is going to be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion for awhile, I think everyone realizes that. However, the rest of the show has the chance to be interesting due to all of these returning Superstars. Bray Wyatt may even be returning soon as well. You factor in all of the Superstars that are going to be coming up from NXT shortly along with the returning established stars, things may finally get interesting. Things haven't been interesting in months and many of those that hated Cena in the past are now thrilled that he is returning, myself included.
