The show kicked off with a MizTV segment. Ultimately it led to AJ Styles laying out the Miz and the two will have a match later on in the night. The first match of the night was Ryback vs Kalisto. Ryback got the win vs Kalisto and becomes the #1 contender for the United States Championship.
Dolph Ziggler was set to face Baron Corbin, but Corbin attacked Ziggler when he was walking to the ring. Corbin was asked why he attacked Ziggler and his response was, "Because I can."
AJ Styles got the win over the Miz in a good match. The Miz tried to leave but Gallows and Anderson prevented him from leaving. This led to AJ Styles getting the win. Just like Raw, AJ Styles looked annoyed that Gallows and Anderson got involved in his match.
Sami Zayn and Dean Ambrose had an entertaining promo backstage when they were trying to come up with a cool tag-team name for themselves. Ambrose and Zayn will be facing Jericho and Owens in the main event.
R-Truth faced off against Fandango w/ Goldust as the special guest referee. This turned into a dance off and was essentially a comedy segment. R- Truth got the win in a quick "match".
Enzo and Cass had a promo with the Vaudevillians, whom they will be facing at WWE Payback to determine who is the number one contenders to the New Day for the Tag Team Titles. This was a great promo simply because these teams are the exact opposite of each other. Hopefully, this feud doesn't end at WWE Payback.
Jericho and Owens defeated Ambrose and Sami Zayn in the main-event. This match had one of the weirdest finishes I've ever seen. You know the spot you see in 50% of matches. where the guy is pushed off the top rope and lands with the rope between his legs? That is how this match ended. Jericho pushed Ambrose off the top rope and Ambrose landed on his balls and then was subsequently pinned by Kevin Owens. It was a bizarre finish to an otherwise good match and a decent WWE Smackdown.
