Wrestlemania 32 is right around the corner and is being held in Texas, the Undertaker's home state. A year ago I thought for sure that this would be the Undertaker's final match but now that seems unlikely. The Undertaker doesn't need a proper feud he can just show up on the Raw before Wrestlemania and everyone would be okay with it. However, in previous Wrestlemanias I would at least have an idea who Taker is going to face. This year? I have absolutely no clue. I'll take a couple guesses though because I'm a total dork.
It has been rumored on several dirt sheet sites that the Undertaker will be facing someone that is not currently on the WWE roster. Does that mean it is someone on the NXT roster? Maybe Finn Balor or Samoa Joe? Anything is possible I guess, but that seems incredibly random to me. I'll enjoy the hell out of it of course, but I doubt that is the direction the WWE is heading.
The obvious candidate would be John Cena if he is able to come back from injury ahead of schedule. However, with nothing really at stake I'm not really captivated by that match. Once again, it would be an enjoyable matchup but personally I hope that doesn't happen. It would make sense though, because what kind of build do you need for a Taker/Cena match? It sells itself.
If you want to dream big you could throw Kurt Angle's name into the ring. Apparently he is not with TNA anymore, so why not? Maybe he has one last match left in him and then after Mania he can go to NXT and help develop younger talent. I have zero clue if Kurt Angle is even interested in returning to the WWE or if he is legally able to with recently departing TNA. Hell, Angle might even still work for TNA, I'm just throwing things against the wall.
Odds are is that it will be John Cena, or someone on the roster and the reports are just wrong. Thankfully, it doesn't appear to be Braun Strowman anymore, which would have been truly a terrible match. I don't know what Vince McMahon's fascination is with Strowman, but there are maybe six people in the WWE Universe that share that fascination.
In a perfect world, I wish it would be Stone Cold Steve Austin or Kurt Angle. Obviously out of the two, Austin would be the choice simply because he is also from Texas and they are trying to sell 100,000 tickets to the event. Time will tell, but I'm starting to get a tad worried about this year's Wrestlemania due to all the injuries piling up on the WWE roster.
