The Boston Celtics have won 9 out of their last 12 games. On Tuesday night, they strolled into Madison Square Garden and outplayed the New York Knicks. Now, the Knicks aren't the greatest team in the world, that is obvious. However, they have Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis so it is no easy task. The Celtics made Porzingis seem like just another rookie rather than rookie of the year.
At the beginning of the year I would have predicted that the Celtics were behind the Bruins in who has a better chance of winning in the post-season. Even though the Bruins didn't make it at all last year, I thought their roster was good enough to make it this year and quite possibly make some noise. I couldn't have been more wrong, the Celtics look like a team that can actually advance in the playoffs. I have my doubts that the Bruins will even make the playoffs this year, given the fact that their team is incredibly flawed. They have a below-average defense at best and would be much better off selling off some pieces in preparation for next season. The Celtics on the other hand are currently the #3 seed in the Eastern Conference. They might actually have home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Every team besides the Cavaliers in the East are simply just good. The Cavs are pretty much a lock to come out of the East and promptly get their ass kicked by the best Western Conference team. While the Bruins should be looking to sell at the trade deadline, the Celtics should be looking to buy. What a difference a year makes.
