The Celtics lost to the Raptors tonight and are now 22-21. There certainly isn't high expectations for this team in Boston but people expected to see some kind of improvement from last year. Halfway through the season, I don't see it. It looks like the same team that can hang around with quality teams but ultimately loses because they don't have a star player. Isiah Thomas is a great role player, he is not someone that a franchise can rely on. Danny Ainge and the Celtics know this, so hopefully they make a move soon because I don't know how much longer Celtics fan can just sit and try and convince themselves this team is a good team.
The Celtics are by no means a bad team and are easy to root for. They play hard and try to outwork opposing teams. That is all well and dandy but if you are just hovering around .500 all season and are the 8th season and get demolished by Lebron and the Cavaliers again, what exactly was accomplished this season? I don't know what moves there are out there to be made by Ainge, but he has got to come up with something because this team is completely mediocre. Even though Ainge and the Celtics have all these draft picks stocked up, if they can't ship them out for a star player this franchise is going to be exactly like they are now for 4 more years. I know Celtics fans are considered the kindest of Boston fans, but I refuse to believe they would sit there and watch this product for a few more years without losing their minds.
