The Royal Rumble is just around the corner and it is about that time to start predicting who will win it. The most obvious prediction would be that Brock Lesnar will win the rumble and go on to face Roman Reigns for the title at Wrestlemania. However, it is a tough call because as of now both Roman Reigns and Lesnar are faces/good guys. It is also a tough call since that was the main event last year, yet I think it is safe to assume that this time around the crowd would be more excited for the match.
The problem facing the WWE right now is that if it is not Brock Lesnar, who is it? Is it John Cena? Can the WWE universe tolerate a Cena vs Reigns match? It would also be the same problem as Brock vs Reigns, Cena is the ultimate good guy. In my opinion, Rusev is an intriguing option. He has performed well in big matches, especially against Mr. Big Match himself John Cena. I just don't see Reigns vs Rusev main-eventing a Wrestlemania, but a lot can change in just a few months.
I can't imagine it being Sheamus vs Reigns again, but with Vince McMahon I guess anything is possible. The match that makes the most sense to me is Lesnar vs Reigns, just based on the spectacle it would be. Another very interesting possibility is Kevin Owens winning the Royal Rumble and earning the title shot at Wrestlemania. It would make sense because Kevin Owens is already a heel, but would that be an intriguing main-event to a mass audience? In a perfect world, yes. In the real world? I'm not so sure. I'm predicting Lesnar will win the Royal Rumble and turn heel sometime between now and Wrestlemania.
