Would it be such a bad thing if the team bus just simply forgot to wait for Jimmy Hayes and Brett Connolly? New York is a pretty happening place, I'm sure Jimmy and Brett could find something fun to do. They can walk around Times Square or maybe even take in a Broadway play. It is just a suggestion because the Bruins have a pretty important hockey game against the Panthers tonight at the TD Garden. Just like last year, the Bruins are on the verge of falling completely on their face and missing the playoffs. If that were to happen, Claude Julien would most likely be out of a job and Sweeney's inability to trade Eriksson at the deadline would look even worse.
I think it would be selfish of Jimmy Hayes and Brett Connolly to hop on the team bus or team jet back to Boston. Whatever mode of transportation the Boston Bruins use to get from A to B, Jimmy and Brett should respectfully decline to hop aboard. The air-space their bodies would take up would deny the real NHL players on the Bruins roster the extra breath they may need to recover for their second game in two nights. I used to complain about Milan Lucic and how he wasn't physical enough, Lucic is Achilles compared to Hayes. Big Jimmy is like Marv from Home Alone, a big and tall buffoon with no sack. I yearn for the days of Reilly Smith whenever I see Jimmy Hayes skate his way to the penalty box while shaking his head.
I cannot wait for this season to end, so this roster can get the enema it so badly needs. Take the night off tonight Jimmy, watch the game at the Erie Pub instead. The Boston Bruins have lost four straight, help the team out guys and take the night off.
