Under Marvin Lewis, the Cincinnati Bengals are 0-6 in the playoffs. Tonight against the Steelers, the Bengals have a chance to end Cinci's misery and win their first playoff game in 25 years. In typical Bengals fashion, Andy Dalton will miss the game due to breaking his thumb while trying to make a tackle after a brutal interception against the Steelers a few weeks back. Some feel that Dalton missing this game is actually a good thing, since he is 0-4 in the postseason and backup AJ McCarron has played well in big games during his tenure at Alabama.
On the other hand, some are already using this as an excuse if the Bengals lose again in the playoffs. "Well, they didn't have their starting QB, how can you expect them to win?" If Marvin Lewis falls to
0-7 in the postseason there is no excuse on planet Earth not to fire him. Sure, he has done a terrific job of getting his team to the postseason where they promptly shit their pants every year. This is a huge game for the Bengals and Lewis in particular. Honestly, it is amazing that Marvin Lewis still has a job in Cincinnati and it is quite possible Bengals' owner Mike Brown will give Lewis yet another extension if his team fails again tonight. The Steelers are a playoff proven team but this year are quite flawed. Their defense isn't nearly as good as they used to be and running back D'Angelo Williams will also miss tonight's game. The Bengals really need to win this game and their should be no excuse for yet another playoff failure.
