It appears none of the local writers want to assign any blame for this collapse on Claude Julien. This is the second year in a row this has happened, but hey he's just the coach. All of the sudden it is not his job to motivate players or get them ready for important games. Apparently it is now an issue if Rene Rancourt outlasts Claude.
Claude Julien is a fantastic coach and definitely deserved better effort from his players. However, doesn't the fact that his players barely showed up all year speak to him losing the locker room? Wouldn't it just benefit all parties involved if the Bruins moved on from Julien? Public relations the hell out of it and say Claude is stepping down. It is not solely Claude's fault the Bruins are out of the playoffs, but don't tell me he is blameless.
Camp right? Hell yeah I want to be a part of camp right. It is very bizarre to me that DJ Bean so adamantly defended Peter Chiarelli but will blast Don Sweeney any chance he can. Don Sweeney has a rough first year obviously but in regards to drafting, every year was a rough one for good ol' Peter. So it was never the GM's fault before but now it is. I don't get it but apparently nobody else besides Neeley and Sweeney are at fault for the second collapse in a row. A collapse that was expertly capped off by the unmotivated, dead-ass team that stunk up the TD Garden yesterday. Don't blame the players. Don't blame the coach. Blame it on the rain.
