Last week, the Pittsburgh Steelers played an incredibly ugly game against the Cincinnati Bengals while the Denver Broncos sat on the coach and rested. Aside from playing a tough game, the Steelers suffered some injuries to key players. Ben Roethlisberger will indeed play today and will no doubt make sure everybody in the world knows he is playing through injury. More important than Roethlisberger being limited by an injury is the fact that Antonio Brown is unable to play. This is the result of a dirty and brutal hit by Vontaze Burfict of the Bengals. This is absolutely huge because it puts a lot of pressure on the Steelers younger receivers to make up for Brown's loss against arguably the NFL's best defense in the Denver Broncos.
On the other hand, there are massive question marks swirling around Denver and their quarterback situation. As of now, Peyton Manning will get the start, even though he pretty much sucked all year. Brock Osweiler did a decent enough job taking over for Manning and helped lead the Broncos to the #1 overall seed in the AFC. My head tells me that Denver is going to win simply because of the injuries to the Steelers, but my heart is leaning towards the Steelers. Let it be known, I absolutely hate the Pittsburgh Steelers, but damn it do I respect them.
So here is the deal, I am going to pick the Steelers even though it doesn't seem likely. I think it is highly likely that Peyton Manning shits his pants and is taken out of the game with the Broncos down two scores in the fourth quarter. Now it comes down to Brock Osweiler and Gary Kubiak somehow saving the Broncos season and I don't see it happening. The Steelers have no business winning this game and for that reason, they will win it convincingly.
