I absolutely love the original Halloween. It is right up there amongst my favorite films of all time. There has been nothing more disappointing to me when it comes to film than the countless awful sequels the Halloween franchise has pumped out. What more do I need to say than Busta Rhymes was the focal point of one them.
And then there was Rob Zombie's horrible remake and subsequent even worse sequel to said shitty remake. Honestly, there are only a handful of films I hate more than Rob Zombie's version of the Halloween. Both of them completely sucked. For the most part, I enjoy every other Rob Zombie film, but his vision for the Halloween franchise was a joke. Michael Myers is not supposed to be a sympathetic character that had a terrible upbringing. He's just a killer. However, this scene is entertaining for all of the wrong reasons.
John Carpenter returning to the franchise as an executive producer is a big deal. I know people will be disappointed that he is not returning as the director, but if you read this article posted on HitFix, you will surely be excited about the vision for the film. Here is my favorite quote from the article.
Boom. Nothing else needs to be said. I'm in. That is exactly what Rob Zombie got wrong with his version of the films. I will give Zombie this, he at least had a vision. The shitty sequels were just Hollywood cash grabs that pretty much ruined the franchise. However, one of the most iconic horror franchises may finally be getting a real sequel, or a real remake. Whatever it is, I'm excited to see it.
